Privacy policy
We keep data collection to a minimum. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, we do not have user accounts, and we do not sell your data.
Who we are
Founder Discounts UK (founderdiscounts.uk) is run by Rampling Digital, which is the controller of personal data described here. You can contact us at [email protected].
What we collect and why
- Hosting and security data. Our host, Cloudflare, processes technical data such as your IP address and browser details to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. Our basis is legitimate interests: running a secure website.
- Visitor statistics. We use cookieless analytics to count page views and see which pages are useful. It does not use cookies and does not follow you across other sites. We do not load it if your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. Our basis is legitimate interests: understanding and improving the site.
- Offer click counts. When you use an offer button, we record that the offer was clicked, and when. The record is not linked to you: we do not store your IP address, device details or any identifier. We use PostHog to store these counts. Our basis is legitimate interests: knowing which offers are useful, and reporting to providers.
- Emails to us. If you email [email protected], we use your email address and message to reply. Our basis is legitimate interests: answering your question.
What stays in your browser
The site saves your light or dark mode choice, and any progress you make on our checklists, in your browser’s local storage. This stays on your device and is never sent to us. See our cookies and local storage page.
Who we share data with
- Cloudflare, for hosting, security and visitor statistics.
- PostHog, for anonymous offer click counts.
- Providers you click through to. When you leave for a provider’s site, their own privacy policy applies. We do not pass them personal data, but they may set their own cookies, and an affiliate network may record that you came from us.
Some of these providers process data outside the UK. Where they do, they rely on safeguards the law recognises, such as UK adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep data
Click counts and visitor statistics are kept in aggregate form for as long as they are useful for running the site. Emails are kept only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of your personal data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to our use of it, or ask us to restrict it. Because we do not link click counts or statistics to you, we usually hold nothing that identifies you beyond any emails you have sent. To use these rights, email [email protected].
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
Children
This site is aimed at people starting businesses and is not directed at children.
Changes
If we change how we use data, for example by adding a newsletter, we will update this page and the date at the top.
